Welcome on my website. This is all about laptops and computer tech, modding computers and investigations.
If you don’t know, I started to post some videos on my YouTube channel “3DAndStuff” in April 2020 and got into investigations around the infamous XMG Apex 15 laptop quickly (Clevo NH5xAx, yes Clevo’s naming scheme is weird). I always try to explain most of the steps in a way people who are not deeply involved into the matter get a chance to know what this is all about, but of course some informations will always be missing. Unfortunately YouTube videos are not editable after uploading.
So I want to use the opportunity to publish all the informations presented in the YouTube videos including updates and corrections on this blog. Additionally you will be able to view some graphics in more detail and take your time to do so.
This whole thing is a hobby for me and I do not make any profit. Besides that I do not represent any company. Even if I show a lot of XMG products it’s not because they pay me, but because I like their products and service. You will always receive my honest opinion on a product you see on my channel or on this blog.
Preparing some content for this blog will take some days. Hope you don’t mind it will be a bit of empty space here for a while. 🙂

May I simply say what a relief to uncover somebody that really understands what theyre discussing over the internet. You certainly know how to bring a problem to light and make it important. More and more people really need to check this out and understand this side of the story. I was surprised that youre not more popular because you certainly have the gift.

Hi, i followed every video you made on the xmg apex 15, what a great laptop! I’m only a little concerned about the upgradability of the mobo used in this model, altough the B450 chipset is compatible with the new Zen3 cpus i saw that xmg team was having troubles updating the bios in order to get a stable product…
Recently clevo launched their new NH55VRQ with B550 chipset which support Zen 3 desktop cpus up to 5950x (always 65W btw), with the option for an RTX 3060 or RTX 3070, i saw some images of the product online and i was wondering if the would offer the possibility to only buy the mobo. The chassis is the same, the screen was updated to 240Hz 1080p or 165Hz 4K, but the i/o are the same, for what i was able to see also the heatsink is the same and obviously the pcb…
I contacted them to ask for a spare motherboard… let’s see, in the mean time i though why not asking 3DAnsStuff’s opinion! For what i can see you investigated soo deeply into the limits and possibilities of this laptop 💪🏻

The new XMG APEX Max with the B550 motherboard is out now. XMG collaborated with me to solve the huge problems the B550 model got. Together we managed to solve all of them, but the solution is not solvable using a BIOS update only. So after all this solution will only affect the XMG version of this product. All other vendors sell the bugged out product.
BUT I am checking legal options at the moemnt to offer the very same fix myself to all non-XMG customers. THis would require you to send me your mobo or whole laptop though.
